After making just 54 appearances for his hometown club, Hart was bought by Manchester City in May 2006 for an initial fee of £600,000.

On June 1, 2008, Fabio Capello awarded the keeper his first full England cap as a second-half substitute against Trinidad and Tobago in the Port of Spain.

Loaned to Birmingham City for the 2009/10 campaign, Hart enjoyed a superb season, named as the club’s Player of the Year, and nominated for the PFA Young Player of the Year award.

Hart has twice been named in the PFA Premier League Team of the Year, in both 2009/10 and 2011/12.

The City number one has won three consecutive Premier League Golden Glove awards for keeping the fewest clean sheets in the season.
