Julián Álvarez was born on 31st January 2000 in Argentina.
Álvarez began his professional career at River Plate in 2018 after excelling in their youth squad. Between 2018-2022, Alvarez had scored 23 league goals in 57 appearances for River Plate including six goals in one game. Alvarez won five trophies with the team during his time at the club.
On his 22nd birthday, it was confirmed that Alvarez had signed for Manchester City. He made his City debut in July 2022 in a Community Shield game against Liverpool. During his first season with Manchester City, Alvarez won the Premier League, FA Cup and the Champions League.
In 2021, Alvarez was part of the Argentina squad that won the Copa America. Alvarez was subsequently included in Argentina's 2022 World Cup squad. Alvarez scored four goals during the competition, including two goals in the semi-final- making him the youngest players since Pele to score two goals in a World Cup Semi-final.
In the 2022-23 season, Alvarez became the first ever player to win a treble and a World Cup in the same season.
