Neymar Jr was born on February 5, 1992, in Mogi das Cruzes, Brazil.
He made his debut for Santos in 2009 and for Brazil in August 2010 aged just 18.
In 2013 he signed for Barcelona for a fee of 87 million Euros to form part of the most lethal attack in world football, alongside Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez. Neymar made 123 domestic league appearances and scored 68 goals for Barcelona between 2013-2017.
Neymar transferred to PSG in 2017 in a move worth €222 million (which made him the most expensive player ever). Neymar spent six seasons at PSG, making 112 appearances and winning five Ligue 1 titles.
In 2023, Neymar made the move to Al Hilal, to play in the Saudi Professional League.
Neymar is captain of Brazil and is now the all-time top goalscorer for his national team with 79 goals in 128 matches.
In 2013 he was part of the Brazil side that won the FIFA Confederations Cup, scoring in the final against Spain, and winning the Golden Ball for player of the tournament. At the 2022 World Cup, he joined Pelé and Ronaldo as the only Brazilians to score in three World Cups.
Comfortable as a striker or winger, his dribbling skills, creativity and passing have seen him compared to Pele, Ronaldinho and Leo Messi amongst others.
