Tony Adams joined Arsenal as a schoolboy in 1980, he made his first-team debut against Sunderland just four weeks after his 17th birthday in November 1983.

He was a one-club player and has gone down as an Arsenal Legend.

The Arsenal defender became the first man to play for England that had been born after their glorious 1966 World Cup success, making his debut in a 4-2 win against Spain in February 1987. He went on to claim 66 caps.

On New Year's Day 1988, the Londoner became captain of Arsenal for the first time, aged just 21. He remained skipper for the next 14 years
