Jerrel "Jimmy" Floyd Hasselbaink was born in Suriname in 1972. /p>

Jimmy originally started his professional career at Telstar and AZ Alkmaar before moving to Portugal to play for Campomaiorense and Boavista.

In 1997 Hasselbaink joined Premier League club Leeds, where he established himself as an incredible goal scorer. In the 1999 season, when he won the premier League Golden Boot award, Hasselbaink was sold to Atletico Madrid for £10 Million. In his first season with Atletico, Hasselbaink helped the club reach the Copa Del Rey final.

Although Hasselbaink scored 24 goals in 24 appearances for the Spanish club, this couldn't prevent the club from relegation. Due to a clause in his contract, Atletico allowed Hasselbaink to leave the club and join Premier League side Chelsea for a club record fee at the time of £15 million.

In his first season at Stamford Bridge, Hasselbaink once again won the Golden Boot award (scoring 23 goals in 35 appearances). During his time at Chelsea, Hasselbaink won the 2000 Charity Shield and reached the final of the FA Cup in the 2001-02 season. Hasselbaink scored 136 goals for The Blues between 2000-2004.

Internationally, Hasselbaink scored 9 goals for Netherlands in 23 appearances between 1998-2002.

After leaving Chelsea in 2004 on a free transfer, JFH played for Middlesborough, Charlton Athletic and finished his professional playing career at Cardiff City.

Since retiring from his playing career, JFH has since undertaken his coaching licenses and has managed Royal Antwerp, Burton Albion, QPR, Northampton Town and Burton Albion.
