Leslie Ash was born on 19th February 1960 in Henley-on-Thames, Oxfordshire. her first on-screen appearance was at just four years of age in a TV advertisement for Fairy liquid. She went on to be educated at stage school before starting a career as a fashion model and gaining a number of magazine covers.
In 1978 she landed the role of Steph in the film "Quadrophenia". The film was the second-highest grossing film at the London Box Office in its opening week, and was met with widely positive reviews. The New York Times has since listed Quadrophenia on its Best 1000 Movies Ever List.
Following Quadrophenia, Ash went on to appear in a series of short and TV films and became a household name from appearing in popular British TV shows including "C.A.T.S. Eyes", "Men Behaving Badly" and "Where the Heart Is".
