Chris Hemsworth was born on 11th August 1983 in Melbourne, Australia. He spent his upbringing between Melbourne and the Outback, and is one of three brothers who are all actors.
Hemsworth began his acting career with a number of small TV appearances before becoming a series regular on Australian soap "Home & Away". In 2009 he was cast as George Kirk in the opening scenes of "Star Trek" which kickstarted his Hollywood career, and then landed the role of Thor in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, a role that was reprised for two further feature films as well as appearing in all four Avengers films. This role shot Hemsworth into worldwide stardom and he became one of the highest paid actors in Hollywood.
Since his casting as Thor, Hemsworth has carried a variety of leading film roles including in "Snow White & The Huntsman" and its sequel, "Rush", "Men In Black: International" and the Netflix two part film series "Extraction".
