We are very happy to announce that we have held a signing session with Nigel Benn in Bristol on May 12, 2018.
Nigel Benn, also known as the 'Dark Destroyer', turned pro in 1987 and began his career with a startling record of 22 successive wins inside the distance. On April 29, 1990, the Londoner became WBO middleweight champion of the world, after beating Doug DeWitt in Atlantic City. Benn won the WBC super-middleweight belt in October 1992 when he beat Italian Mauro Galvano in Rome. He successfully defended his title nine times.
Nigel Benn fought British super-middleweight rival Chris Eubank in 1990 and 1993, losing one and drawing the other. These were considered two of the decade’s greatest fights.
Benn signed a range of gloves and photos for us during the signing session, many of which have since been dual signed by Chris Eubank. Nigel happily chatted with the team about his previous fights, his life out in Australia and his current gym routines.
