We are very happy to announce that we have completed a private signing session with Eric Cantona! The team flew out to Nantes, France on February 14th to meet up with "Le King".
We have been fortunate enough to sign with Eric on numerous occasions over the last 10 years and because of this, we have been able to build a strong working relationship with him and his team.
During the signing Eric signed a range of shirts, photos and boots for the team.
The first few items that he signed were original Manchester United 1994-96 home shirts. These authentic original shirts are a rare find, which is why we have very limited available. The shirt is the same style worn when Cantona helped United come back from a 10-point deficit to eventually win the Premier League in 96’ on the last day of the season. He also scored the winning goal in the FA Cup final that same season, with an incredible volley vs rivals Liverpool. The team became the first English team to win the double (Premier League and FA Cup) twice! Cantona finished the same season as United’s top scorer, scoring 19 goals in all competitions. The iconic Umbro shirt has amazing features, including a screen print of Old Trafford across the front and back. A collector’s item.
Eric also signed a handful of original Manchester United 1996/98 home shirts during the signing. The 1996/97 season was Cantona’s final as a professional footballer, after which he announced his shock retirement from the game. His standout moment from this season was his chipped goal against Southampton and his iconic puffed chest celebration that followed. He finished his time at United with four League titles in five years and two League and FA Cup doubles.
A range of Nike Tiempo boots were signed by Eric within the trademark swoosh logo. Eric was an ambassador for Nike and scored all of his 93 professional goals in similar style boots. Eric also signed across the number 7 on a range of Adidas 2018-19 home shirts. He lastly signed licenced photos showing Eric with his infamous collar up, captain’s armband and his number 7 showing under his name.
All items will come with a certificate of authenticity showing Eric signing one of the product line and states the date/place where the signing took place.
