Carl Fogarty was born on July 1, 1965, in Blackburn, Lancashire. Growing up in a racing family his ambition was to ride road bikes professionally like his father George - and after impressing as a teenager in Motocross that dream became a reality.

At the age of just 23, Fogarty became Formula 1 TT champion, and it was a feat he also repeated the following year.

In 1992 ‘Foggy’ broke the lap record on a Yamaha 750cc at the Isle of Man TT with a time of 18m 18.8 seconds. It was a landmark that stood for the next seven years.

Riding a Kawasaki, Carl, Terry Rymer and Michael Simul won the World Endurance Team Championship in 1992.

On his favourite Ducati, the British hero landed four World Superbike Championship titles, in 1994, 1995, 1998 and 1999.

Carl Fogarty was appointed an MBE in the 1998 New Year’s Honours List.

During his astonishing 219-race Superbike career Fogarty enjoyed 21 poles, 109 podium finishes and 59 victories.

Foggy, famous for his aggressive racing and high corner speed, is the most successful World Superbike racer of all-time in terms of championships and race wins.
